With over 20 years of experience in DOD and 20 in IT and Security, I have led security operations for Fortune 500 companies, enhanced critical controls at financial and manufacturing organizations, and have led, scaled, and audited security programs globally. Most of my career has been spent bridging multiple areas across technology and security to include operations, governance risk and compliance, and ethical challenges within technology. As a technology leader, I am passionate about advancing cybersecurity, understanding AI and ethical technology, and supporting the development of people to prepare the next generation of professionals and leaders. I have extensive experience in Ethical AI, IT, and cybersecurity, addressing governance and oversight, cyber operations, risk management, and leadership. I have led all aspects of IT and security for globally distributed teams to support business operations, safeguard critical information, and create processes to unify teams and business objectives.

Responsible AI Governance in Tech Companies

Our goal is to understand how tech companies manage the development of AI systems and how they can better address the unintended negative consequences that their AI may cause. We aim to produce practical insights that tech companies can use to improve. We also aim for the insights to be helpful to anyone who evaluates tech companies externally, such as investors, insurers, and buyers of AI.

This group aims to empower private sector organizations to develop, deploy, and finance AI in socially responsible ways. To achieve this goal, this group seeks to understand how AI is governed in tech companies, how to measure the responsibility of AI governance in tech companies, and how AI governance can be improved. In addition, this group seeks to build on these insights to create resources that investors, buyers of AI, and others can use to support companies in developing AI in socially responsible ways. The research this group conducts is grounded in multiple disciplines, including AI ethics, philosophy, and organizational psychology.

ForHumanity Cybersecurity Framework

Cyber-attacks are costly, disruptive, and an ever-growing threat to businesses, governments, and society alike. Data subjects and the use of their Personal Data in AI, algorithmic and autonomous systems (AAA Systems), and appropriate protections are a foundational part of ForHumanity’s mission. AAA Systems using Personal Data have been placed on the market with insufficient governance, oversight, and accountability including failures of technical, ethical, and organizational controls. ForHumanity is working to develop a framework that ensures appropriate controls exist and risk-based management processes are in place to secure all information relating to AAA systems. Additionally, it aims to ensure that identified security risks are mitigated and that privacy and data protection are maximized.

ForHumanity Contributors are people from all over the world. Hundreds of individuals, from all walks of life, have joined the ForHumanity community to advance Independent Audit of AI Systems because it will build an #infrastructureoftrust in our AIs and Autonomous Systems.
